Sports Injury

Physio Elements provide a high-level sports injury service that quickly returns athletes to their favoured activities. As sports enthusiasts ourselves, we know that athletes place a higher than normal demand on their bodies, often resulting in stressed muscles and other injuries.

We provide you with a customised treatment program that is tailored to your specific needs and will help you get back on your feet as soon as possible. We also provide preventative therapies to ensure that the likelihood of further injuries is minimised.

Why do athletes suffer injuries?

Some injuries are due to overly stressing specific muscles for example tendon injuries and stress fractures. You can often see this in competitive runners, long distance and mountain runners. Running injuries are often attended to by our physios. Others are due to an indirect force, for example muscle sprains or strains, even ligament tears. Then there are bruises and fractures that are caused by direct blows or falls in combative sports, such as rugby, football, basketball, netball hockey or tennis.

How do we treat your sports injuries?

We have a wide range of treatments that can be used to treat and rehabilitate your sports injuries. Once we have assessed your injury we will craft a customised plan that not only accelerates your healing, but also prevents a repetition of your injury.

Therapies that may be included in your treatment program include manual therapies, such as spinal and peripheral joint mobilisation, deep tissues release, soft tissue massage, trigger point release and passive stretching. Clinical Pilates, dry needling, electrotherapy and hydrotherapy may also be included if required.
