New Year’s Resolutions for a Happy and Healthy 2020

The new year is fast approaching as the holiday season is already in full swing. If you are like most people you are probably asking yourself: “how is it already the new year again?”.

When the year comes to an end, it is a great time to make positive changes and get a clean slate to start from. So whether you want to start eating healthier, stay fit, improve your relationships, work on your mental health or wellbeing, this is YOUR year!

The best way to make positive changes in your life is to create goals and write them down. Trust us, it works!

When it comes to embarking on a new health and fitness journey, you don’t need to be fit to get started, you just need to start.

New Year’s Resolutions to eat healthier…
The best place to start is in your kitchen:

How do I keep my new year’s resolution to lose weight?
One way that you can keep your resolutions to lose weight is to focus on the goals that you can control. “Life” will always get in the way, so to reduce the impact of life happening, it’s easier to set goals around things we can control. For example, instead of saying I will than lose 5kg by Easter, your goal could be to:
• Move your body every day for a week, and then 2 weeks, then 28 days, then 2 months etc…
• No drinking alcohol through the week;
• Swapping your soft drink for water
These small changes WILL all add up.

How to create healthy New Year’s Resolutions that last all year:
Set your health and fitness goals in 28 day blocks
Create some simple rules around your healthy eating resolutions
Develop some easy rules to keep you on track with your fitness resolutions
Always make time for your mind
Make yourself accountable by sharing your goals with people you trust
Remember a healthy lifestyle does not have a finish line
